Tomato Onion Chutney


Ingredients

Tomato-2medium (finely chopped)
Shallots(small onion)-20 no
Ginger-small piece
Green chilly-1
Crushed dry red chilly -1tsp
Salt-to taste
Coconut Oil-2Tbsp
Curry Leaves-10 nos

Method

At first chop onion,ginger,]green chilly, curry leaves and tomato in to small pieces..Then heat oil in a kadai.Then put onion,ginger,green chilly,curry leaves and salt and saute well …when the onion become little brown add crushed red chilly and saute them together ..Stir well for 2 more minutes..Then add the chopped tomato and saute well…Saute till the tomato get cooked well…..By this time u will get a nice aroma spread all over ur kitchen … …So after that turn off the gas and let the mixture to cool …After cooling take a small blender and grind the mixture ..The chutney should not become that smooth .(run just 2 rounds in the blender). ..So now ur tasty tomato chadny is ready to serve …its a nice combination with dosa,idly,rava dosa etc…..So try it and let me know the result…

Note ..

If u have oven, u can make this chutney using oven also ..For that first add all the ingredients with coconut oil in a dish except tomato and cook for abt 10 minutes …Then after 10 minutes add the chopped tomato and cook for another 5 minutes…. U must note one thing .That is the onion should be saute well and should be light brown in colour..(The raw smell should go completely)..So adjust the cooking time accordingly.. …So after that grind the mixture ….

If u want u can season the chutney with mustard seeds and curry leaves … And if u want more hot u can add the chilly powder according to ur taste …
